First time on Kohama Island, Yaeyama Islands!
The weather forecast was for rain and strong winds, but we were told that SUP could be experienced regardless of the effects of the rain, so we went ahead with our plans, despite our misgivings! Unlike the sea conditions of the ferry route to Kohama Island, the experience was in a field with relatively calm waves and wind. Thanks to the very kind guidance of the guide, I was able to stand up and paddle right away, and it was the best experience without being rained on.
It was a short experience, so I would recommend it to everyone who has a spare time during their trip!
You will want to dive into the sea at the end of the experience! You will be led to it! So the rain doesn't matter.
I was not confident in my physical strength and was worried about my ability to do SUP, but the staff carefully taught me how to do it, so it was fine even for a beginner. The snorkeling at Barasu Island was very beautiful and impressive. I was also relieved that I could leave the ferry arrangements to you.
