Mangrove SUP/Canoe & Nosoko MarpeiCanoe or SUP cruise on the Fukidori River, designated as a national natural treasure, where hirugi (Japanese cypress) forests grow in clusters,This plan includes trekking to Nosoko Marpei, the second highest mountain in Ishigaki Island.
The contrast between the blue ocean with a view of the horizon and the green of Ishigaki Island is always great!
Okinawa marbled rockfish (Sebastiscus marmoratus)
Nosoko Marpei is officially called "Nosoko-dake (野底マーペー)," a mountain rich in nature located about 30 minutes from the airport and 40 minutes from the Ishigaki Port Terminal by car.
With an elevation of 282 meters, it is the second largest mountain in Ishigaki Island, and after climbing the mountain for about 30 minutes, you will see the rock at the top.
Fuki-dori River
Compared to the Miyara River, which boasts the largest watershed on the island, the Fukidori River is a compact river, but it is easily accessible from the mouth to the upper reaches, making it one of the most popular spots to enjoy the changes in flora and fauna in each watershed.

Yabiku Falls
After enjoying SUP (canoeing), we will move to another point and trek to Yabiku Falls.
Yabiku Falls (Yabiku no Taki) is a waterfall located on the Fukitsu River that flows in the north of Ishigaki Island. This waterfall is said to be a "match-making waterfall" and is highly recommended for couples traveling together. It is definitely a waterfall that will give you a sense of adventure!

Participated in mid-October. Marpey was surprised when he told us to go from the car to that pointy mountain over there. When it came time to go up the narrow road, we were on the rocky terrain at the top of the mountain. There was a strong wind blowing, but it was a good decision because we could see the blue sea of Ishigaki Island and the island. It was fun to listen to the guide's explanation about plants and insects along the way. On the way, we had lunch at a deep restaurant that islanders go to...they had goat soup and other dishes, but the Yaeyama buckwheat was delicious. (The wild boar was also tasty). Then we went canoeing. After a brief explanation, it was time to go! From the big river to the mangrove forest. After that, we got off the canoe and walked through the river to a waterfall! Depending on the water level, you may walk up to your waist, but you will be covered with the waterfall at the end, so it will be refreshing. Of course, the guide will explain about the plants along the way! It was a day of enjoying the mountains and the river! Thank you very much to the guide for taking so many pictures!

It was really like exploring the jungle by SUP through the narrow mangrove river! We got wet up to our waist during the trekking, so you need to wear clothes that you don't mind getting dirty. After lunch, we climbed Mt. I didn't think it was that high, but the view at the top was spectacular! This might have been the most beautiful place in my trip to Ishigaki Island.

530代Posted Mon: 08/2017My family of four took the tour! The mangrove canoeing was even better than I expected. I learned later that the hirugi forest here is a natural monument. We were very happy to see the yellow leaves of the mangrove on the surface of the water, and to see flying gobies and many fish. I think this is a great place for children who like living things. Marpei was easier to climb than I expected, even for a child and even for me.
