一夜花と呼ばれる幻の花『サガリバナ』をご存知でしょうか？
サガリバナとはマングローブなどの湿地帯に自生する一晩咲いて散ってしまう儚い花です。花びら一本一本はとても細く線香花火のように咲いています。
なんと、日本では石垣島と西表島でしか見ることができないんだとか☆
Ishigaki Island日の入りの時間帯から、つぼみが少しずつ開花を始めます。
サガリバナの花はバニラのような甘い匂いを漂わせ、目だけでなく香りも楽しませてくれます。
サガリバナは夜明け前にはマングローブの水面にひらひらと落ち始めます。一瞬の輝きに最大限の力を使うその姿は美しく、哀愁さえ感じます。
サガリバナ揺れる朝のマングローブ川の光景は自然の偉大さと儚さを感じさせてくれるでしょう。

ヤエヤマヒメボタル（金ホタル）はJapan's smallest firefly (Luciola cruciata)と呼ばれ、その体長は2～4mm程の小さなホタルです。
ヤエヤマメボタルは様々な所に散在して生息しているのではなく、ホタルにとって条件のいい一か所に数千匹〜数万匹の群れを成して生息しています。
一斉に発光するその姿は光の絨毯and ... and地上の天の川みたいで感動しますよ☆
また、ヤエヤマヒメボタルは日没後の18時〜19時頃から光を放ち始めます。日没後の30分がチャンスです！
ヤエヤマヒメボタル通常のホタルと違い、地面すれすれでチカチカと光を発しながら飛びます。

I recently participated in the "Sagaribana Viewing Jungle Night Tour" on Ishigaki Island. The experience of seeing the one-night-only sagaribana in the jungle at night was fantastic, the sweet scent of the flowers was in the air, and the star-filled sky was amazing. I did not come here with a specific goal in mind, but the guide of the tour I joined during the daytime told me that it happened to be the season of the sagaribana, so I joined the evening tour of the sagaribana. It was a good decision to join the tour because it is difficult to find places where the flowers are in bloom. The time was a little earlier than the peak, so it was not in full bloom, but it was beautiful enough, fragrant, and fun. We had good memories!
