Let's catch Okinawa's local fish "Gurukun" by Sabiki fishing, an easy fishing method even for beginners!

A simple fishing method called sabiki fishing is used in shallow water around 30 meters deep.We will target Okinawa's prefectural fish, Gurukun.

Sabiki fishing is "irigui," or "biting the hook," which means that the fish are caught as soon as the hook is inserted, so there is little time to wait.This method of fishing is very popular among first-time anglers and bored children.

All equipment and bait for fishing are provided free of charge.

Even if you are a beginner, the captain will help you set up your gear, attach bait, how to catch fish, take in fish, and much more. I have no knowledge of fishing at all! We have many participants who say "I don't know anything about fishing at all!

Deep-fried gurukun is a popular Okinawan dish, but sashimi is also recommended when large gurukun are caught.

Gurukun is a fish that goes bad very quickly, so only freshly caught fish can be eaten as sashimi.This is a dish that only anglers can enjoy, as it is not usually available at izakaya (Japanese style pubs).â

8:20/13:20	Arrival at the point & Lecture ➡︎ Upon arrival at the point, the captain will give you a lecture on how to use the equipment and how to fish, even if it is your first time. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask! If you forget, we will teach you as many times as you want!
8:30/13:30	Started fishing for gurukun ➡︎The captain will take care of everything, including baiting and taking in fish.
11:45/16:45	End of Fishing ➡︎The captain will of course take care of all the clean up. You are welcome to count your catch and take pictures.

My kindergartener wanted to fish on Ishigaki Island, so we gave it a try. All of us in the family were beginners, but we caught a lot of gurukun and other fish, and the children were very happy. At an izakaya (Japanese style bar), we were served sashimi, boiled, buttered, and grilled fish, which were so delicious that we could not finish them. Sabiki fishing in Ishigaki Island was a perfect experience for my first time sea fishing. Especially with the captain's generous support, I was able to enjoy the experience with peace of mind. Fishing for the prefectural fish, Gurukun, is easy and you can eat the caught fish as fresh sashimi on the spot. Another special aspect of this tour, available only on the morning flight, was the opportunity to eat the gurukun we caught ourselves at an izakaya (Japanese-style pub). My children also enjoyed fishing on the boat, and the whole family had a valuable experience.

My family participated in the Sabiki fishing experience on Ishigaki Island. Beginners and children were very excited!
