I participated in mid-September. It was held early in the morning, so even though I had a flight around noon that day, I was able to participate safely. We gathered before sunrise and headed for the beach with the instructor, Mr. Tanaka. After arriving at the beach, we had free time until sunrise to take pictures with the sunrise in the background and enjoy ourselves in a relaxed atmosphere. Finally, at sunrise, the beach cleanup began. The reality of unmanaged beaches with a lot of garbage washed ashore from Japan and around the world was astonishing. We were able to learn about the other side of Ishigaki Island that is not covered in the guidebooks and learn more about the SDGs. It was really impressive to see how the beach was cleaned up after everyone worked together to sort the trash they picked up. As we boarded the plane with a refreshed feeling after the beach cleanup, the sight of Ishigaki Island from the sky looked more beautiful than ever and filled my heart with contentment. I think this tour, which can be joined in a short time and allows people to experience the nature of Ishigaki Island and the SDGs, is perfect for family trips and employee training.
This was my first experience with beach cleanup! Bottom line, it's awesome! The reason is that doing something that makes you feel good in the morning makes your day so much better and you can participate on the last day of your trip. We gathered in the dark early in the morning and started picking up trash after watching the sunrise in a relaxed manner while enjoying the yoga mats and moon tea that were prepared for us. I was surprised to see a lot more trash from overseas than I expected! The beach was a little cleaner and I felt like I had cleaned up my mind as well! You can be as calm as when you are meditating! If you come to Ishigaki, I recommend joining on the last day!
We gathered at 6:00 a.m. and watched the sunrise, then went for a beach cleanup! When I met Mr. Tanaka, he had actually been cleaning the beach for over 1500 days, so everything he told me was fresh and fascinating. There was a lot of trash from overseas, and it was fun to know that this was from 00 and that was from 00, lol! I wanted to keep the beautiful ocean of Ishigaki Island. I would like to participate again!
It was the first time for me to participate in this tour and I enjoyed it with my child. 100 meters was thrilling enough, but I personally recommend 200 meters. The staff was very efficient and friendly. If you are prone to motion sickness, it is better to take anti-sickness medicine before joining the tour.
The ocean was so beautiful! It was nice to have my picture taken too!
This was my first time riding in a buffalo cart. The cows were clean and well cared for and peaceful. I also enjoyed the wildlife conservation center very much. The bus driver of the mangrove cruise and Iriomote Island was also a guide. He was very reliable and guided us through the various aspects of the island in an easy-to-understand manner, so we could fully enjoy the whole day.
