Ishigaki Island ”Waterfall” Tour

The mangrove tour on my last visit to Ishigaki Island was wonderful, so this time I returned to take this package tour, which also included snorkeling on Barasu Island. The canoe trip to Mizuochi Falls was, as always, filled with the power of nature, and I was deeply moved by the beautiful coral reefs on this “miracle island,” which I was visiting for the first time. No matter how many times I come, the experience always exceeds my expectations.

The kids had a blast canoeing at Mizuochi Falls and sightseeing on Yufu Island. Paddling down the mangrove-lined river felt like an adventure, and their eyes lit up when they rode the water buffalo cart. Thanks to the staff, who kindly taught the kids about nature, I, as a parent, was able to relax and fully enjoy our family time. The ferry tickets were included, which made getting around very easy. It was a wonderful memory.

Although I was traveling alone, I was able to relax and enjoy myself without any worries. The guide was very friendly and chatted with me easily, and as we paddled through the mangroves toward Mizuiro Falls, I was able to fully immerse myself in the beauty of nature. The scenery on Yufu Island, which we explored by water buffalo cart, was also nostalgic, and it was the perfect getaway to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

I think it offers good value for the price. The package includes a ferry ticket to Iriomote Island, and I appreciate that it allows you to efficiently experience a water buffalo cart tour of Yubu Island and canoeing through the mangroves. The path leading to Mizuochi Falls was rich in natural beauty. However, if I had to nitpick, the canoeing took a while and my arms got a little tired, so it’s best to pace yourself. Overall, it’s a satisfying itinerary.

First, we took a ferry to Iriomote Island and paddled our stand-up paddleboards (SUPs) down a mangrove-lined river toward Mizuiro Falls. It was incredibly relaxing to spend some quiet time surrounded by such lush nature. Next, we headed to Barasu Island—a miraculous island made of coral fragments—where we snorkeled to explore the vibrant underwater world. With tickets included, the trip went smoothly, and it was a truly all-inclusive tour that allowed us to fully experience the power of nature.
