８万坪の広大な敷地内には鍾乳洞がありますが、自然のままの状態を楽しんでもらえるように照明は最小限にしてあるそう。
Nearby.Ishigakijima limestone caveと間違えてしまう方が多いので、お気をつけください。
八重山自然村の動植物園は現在整備されておらず、散策は可能ですが動物と触れ合ったりは出来ないようです。
石垣島の「B級スポット」とも言われ、マニアックな人向けかもしれません。
