About the Shinzato Village Ruins
An archaeological site centered around a well called Hanakungā.
It was once believed that settlements formed around wells, but the discovery of the Shinzato Village archaeological site has revealed that Shinzato Village is the birthplace of Taketomi Island.
It is also said that the settlement on the eastern side of Hanashiro-ido began in the late 12th to 13th centuries, while the one on the western side was established in the 14th century.
