About the Shinzato Village Ruins
An archaeological site centered around a well called Hanakungā.
It was once believed that settlements formed around wells, but the discovery of the Shinzato Village archaeological site has revealed that Shinzato Village is the birthplace of Taketomi Island.
It is also said that the settlement on the eastern side of Hanashiro-ido began in the late 12th to 13th centuries, while the one on the western side was established in the 14th century.

How to Enjoy the Shinzato Village Ruins
Shinzato Village is said to be the birthplace of Taketomi Island.
It’s also a place where you can get a sense of what life was like in the 12th and 13th centuries.
Since it's located quite close to the port, it's a great place to visit while you're waiting for the high-speed ferry.
