What is Tinda Hanata?

Tindahanata is a small hill topped by a massive rock located in the northern part of Yonaguni Island, southwest of the Sonai settlement. It stands about 100 meters tall and features a well-maintained walking trail. A few minutes’ ride up the hill on a motorcycle will take you to the base of the rock. From the top of Tinda Hanata, you can enjoy a beautiful view of the Sonna settlement. The rock is a single monolith, giving it the feel of Yonaguni’s very own “Ayers Rock.”
