What is Pemchi Beach?

Pemchi Beach, the only beach on the southern side of Hateruma Island.

Because it faces the open ocean to the south, it is also famous as Japan's southernmost beach.

Since there are no islands beyond the beach, this is a border beach where only the horizon is visible.

The beach stretches for 300 meters and is densely covered with fragments of coral.

However, since there are many rocky areas in the water, it’s best not to walk barefoot.

Also, a little south of Pemchi Beach,TakanasakiThere is a cape there, and it is home to a monument marking the southernmost point of Japan.

Swimming is prohibited at Pemchi Beach, but the beach is covered with fragments of coral.

That's why I recommend beachcombing.

The contrast between the white sand, the rocky shore, and the blue sea is truly stunning.
