I participated with my grandchild, and it made for a wonderful memory. The farmer kindly showed us how to harvest sugarcane, so my grandchild worked hard to help with the cutting. He was thrilled by the sweetness of the freshly harvested sugarcane when he took a bite right there on the spot. If I had to mention one thing, there were a few spots in the field where it was a bit difficult to walk, so I recommend wearing sturdy shoes.

Our children’s eyes sparkled with excitement as they enjoyed this first-time experience. The farmer kindly showed us how to harvest sugarcane, so the kids worked hard to help with the cutting. The whole family was amazed by the sweetness of the freshly harvested sugarcane when we took a bite right there on the spot. It was a wonderful memory that allowed us to experience Okinawa’s unique nature and culture in just a short time.
