How to Get to Iharama Sabichi Cave
The Iharama Sabichi Cave is located about a 20-minute drive from New Ishigaki Airport and about a 40-minute drive from the Remote Islands Terminal.
① After leaving New Ishigaki Airport, turn left and head north on Route 390.
② Follow the road with the ocean on your right; after turning onto Route 206 and driving for a short while, you’ll find it on your right.

① Exit the Remote Islands Terminal, turn right, and follow Route 87.
② Turn right at the intersection where you'll see Pineapple Club on your left.
③ Turn left at the intersection where Route 209 joins.
④ Turn right at the intersection where Route 87 joins, and when you reach the end of the road, where Route 390 joins, turn left there.
⑤ Drive north on Route 390 for a while, then turn onto Route 206 and continue for a short distance; you’ll see it on your right.

When you enter the cave, you’ll be amazed by the dynamic terrain of this spacious area, which features a ceiling height of over 10 meters.
Inside the cave, there are many valuable features scattered throughout, including stone pillars, stalagmites, icicle-like formations, cave coral, helictites, and fossils such as tabane coral and giant clams.
There are lots of interestingly shaped stalactites, so be sure to look for them.
