The Taketomi Island Water Supply Monument, located right next to the Nakasuji Well.

We used to use the well next door, but when running water was brought to Taketomi Island, this monument was erected to commemorate the occasion.

Although lifestyles have changed, this has led to the development of the tourism industry as we know it today, bringing prosperity to the island.
