石垣市立図書館とは

石垣市立図書館は石垣島離島ターミナルから徒歩5分くらい、市民会館の隣にあります。

赤瓦の建物で石垣市の公認マスコットキャラクター『ぱいーぐる』が飾られてあります。

石垣島をはじめとした、八重山諸島の資料も豊富で、琉球王国の資料などもあります。

観光地から外れた場所にありますが、道を挟んだShin-Ei Parkで散策もできます。

ここを起点にして、Sakhalin fir (Abies sachalinensis)方面への散歩がお薦めです。

石垣市立図書館での遊び方

レンタカーで行けば市街地から近いこともあり、休憩場所としてもおすすめ。
