What is "Shooting Star Hill"?

Shooting Star Hill" is located on a small hill in Kuura, Hirakubo Peninsula, north of Ishigaki Island. It is also a certified starry sky protection area, and because it is 45 minutes away from the city center one way, a very dark environment is maintained.

Includes live shamisen performance!

The luxury of being able to listen to a live shamisen performance under a star-filled sky is an experience like no other.

Reference Schedule

	Contents
(i)	Meeting & Reception →First, you will go through the reception and checkout process, and then you will be guided to your seat.
(2)	Tour begins! →Once all guests are seated, all lights in the hall are turned off and the tour begins.
(iii)	Explanation of star guide →Starry sky guide will show you the starry sky of Yaeyama using a lazer pointer. (about 30 minutes)
★	Customers who have booked the commemorative photo option will be guided one by one to the photo location for the photo shoot.
★	Using binoculars, we will guide you to stars that are difficult to observe with the naked eye.
★	You can experience astronomical observation through a telescope. (May not be possible on cloudy or windy days.)
4)	Live sanshin performance under the stars →We will perform 3-4 island songs related to the stars and the moon. There will be original songs that can only be heard here. (about 20 minutes)
5)	end →The tour will end with a performance of sanshin (Okinawan traditional three-stringed instrument) followed by a final talk by the star guide. After the tour, those who have time to spare, such as guests who will meet locally, may view the telescope.

I brought my camera to take pictures of the stars. Thanks to the camera-savvy guide who helped me fiddle with the settings from start to finish, I was able to take tremendous pictures! It was splendid star gaze experience. the stars are very clear to recognize on the hill. I saw southern cross star and the bigger dipper. The biggest pity is my Japanese is poor. But the staffs are very nice,they will give you time for toilet before go to the star hill. I am short sight,so not sure whether it ismy eyes when using their telescope, the stars are notquite clear for me. Anyway,pls do join the trip.

My children wanted to see the stars, and not knowing where the best spots were in the city center because of the many lights, we joined the tour. I thought I was just going to be taken to a spot where it was easy to see the stars, but the stories were interesting! He was full of knowledge and I was satisfied just by listening to this story. We were able to see the star-filled sky! I was looking forward to the starry sky tour the most on my trip to Ishigaki Island, but the weather was on my side... and I was lucky enough to see a shooting star, too!
