Mount UrabeMeaning
A mountain rising to an elevation of 231 meters near the center of Yonaguni Island. It is the island’s highest peak and serves as a landmark for those touring the island. Because of its beautiful triangular shape, it is also known as “Yonaguni Fuji.” Although the road is narrow, it is paved nearly all the way to the summit, where a steel tower stands. From near the summit, you can enjoy a panoramic view of the airport and the village of Sonai.
