What Is Euglena Mall?
Located in the northern part of Ishigaki Island, just a few minutes' walk from the Remote Islands Terminal, this is Japan's southernmost shopping district featuring an arcade.

Originally, the Ishigaki City Central Shopping District Promotion Association managed and operated it under the name “Ayabani Mall,” but in 2010, it was renamed “Euglena Mall.”
More than 100 shops—including souvenir shops, clothing stores, and restaurants—line the area around the public market.

How to Get to Euglena Mall
To get to Euglena Mall, exit the Ishigaki Island Remote Islands Terminal, turn right, and continue straight along the road.
Cross National Route 390 and turn left at the first intersection; you'll see Euglena Mall ahead of you.

Euglena Mall is home to over 100 shops, including souvenir stores, restaurants, and clothing boutiques—it’s no exaggeration to say that you can find everything you need right here!
Chuo-dori and Ginza-dori intersect here, and unique shops line both streets as they extend in all four directions.
With a variety of shops, it’s a spot where everyone—from young children to seniors—can have a good time.

The Miyara Residence is the only remaining residence that preserves the architectural style of the samurai class of the Ryukyu Kingdom; it was built in 1819 by Miyara Chikunagami Tōen, a member of the Ryukyu samurai class.
It has been designated as an Important Cultural Property of Japan, and its garden—featuring massive Ryukyu limestone boulders and designed by Shuri gardener Gusukuma Pechin—has also been designated as a National Scenic Spot.

Shin-Ei Park

Shin-Ei Park is a large green space where many local children gather to play on the playground equipment and enjoy sports.
While it usually has a peaceful atmosphere with children playing around, it’s also the venue for outdoor events such as the Orion Beer Fest and the Tuba-rama Festival.

Gushiken Youtaka Monument

Although Mr. Gushiken is often seen on variety shows and the like, he used to be a professional boxer—a legendary fighter who successfully defended his WBA World Junior Flyweight title 13 times in a row!
In recognition of this remarkable achievement, a statue was erected at the remote island terminal on Ishigaki Island, Mr. Gushiken’s hometown.
It is a popular photo spot, and many tourists take souvenir photos there.
