What is Ishigaki Yamama Village?
Set against a backdrop of lush natural scenery, Ishigaki Yaimamura...A theme park that recreates the old-fashioned, traditional houses of the Yaeyama IslandsIt is.
Famous for its beautiful sunsets on Ishigaki Island, among other things,Nagura BayIt is located on a hill overlooking the area.
The sound of sanshin (Okinawan traditional three-stringed instrument) echoes from the red-tiled old house, which is registered as a Tangible Cultural Property of Japan, and there is a full menu of hands-on activities such as wearing Ryukyuan costumes and painting seasa (Okinawan Okinawan traditional Okinawan folk art).

After strolling through the village, you can enjoy delicious local cuisine at “Anparu Shokudo” and do some shopping at the gift shop♪
How to Get to Yaima Village

Yaimura Village is located about a 24-minute drive from New Ishigaki Airport and about a 17-minute drive from the Remote Islands Terminal.
After leaving New Ishigaki Airport, turn right and head north on Route 390.
Turn left at the T-intersection where Route 211 intersects, and continue west along the road for a while. Turn onto Route 208 and continue west; after crossing Nagura Bay, turn left at the Y-intersection, and you’ll find Yaima Village on your right.
◆If you're coming from the Remote Islands Terminal
After exiting the Remote Islands Terminal, take the road on the left and turn left at the intersection with City Hall Street.
Turn left, then immediately turn right at the intersection with the Torinji Nishi-dori Road, and continue straight along that road for a while. Turn left at the intersection with Route 208, and head north on Route 208.
Cross the Nagura River, turn left at the Y-intersection ahead, and you’ll find Yaima Village on your right.

Details about Yaima Village

Yaima Village is the southernmost theme park in Japan, featuring a landscape characteristic of the Yaeyama Islands, with traditional red-tiled houses recreated within the park grounds.
The building, which is a recreation of a traditional Japanese house,Registered as a National Tangible Cultural Property...and you can learn about the culture and daily life of the Yaeyama Islands.

You can view the islanders' traditional tools and way of life, and even participate in hands-on cultural activities.
Activities range from photo sessions in traditional Minsa-woven costumes to live shamisen performances, hands-on experiences with “ashibi” (traditional indoor games), and workshops for making sata andagi and maas amulets.
In addition, the park features a water buffalo pond, a crowned eagle enclosure, and a squirrel monkey enclosure, where visitors can interact with the animals.

There is a restaurant called Anparu Shokudo in Yaima Village. In addition to typical Yaeyama dishes such as Yaeyama soba, Ishigaki-style zenzai, and soki soba, it also offers standard menu items like curry.
