What Is the Sanai Isoba Monument?

Located near the center of Yonaguni Island,Tinda HanataA stone monument on the promenade. Sanai Isoba was a female lord who ruled this area from the late 15th to early 16th century; she was a formidable figure, and legend has it she stood 2 meters tall. It is said she had her residence in this vicinity. Although Sanai Isoba was known for her massive stature and superhuman strength, she was also a renowned ruler of Yonaguni Island. She is said to have stationed her four brothers throughout the island to govern it, and to have released a giant grass frog into the sea to make outsiders believe that giants lived on the island, thereby deterring enemies from approaching.
