In the old days, a cow that used to be kept in this village would run away at night, dig up dirt and rocks with its horns to make a hill overnight, and in the morning, at the top of the hill, it would be calledNbuhle, NbuhleThe hill was named Nbufuru Hill because of the legend that it was called "Nbufuru Hill" (meaning "the hill of Nbufuru").

First, access Taketomi Island from Ishigaki Island, about a 16-minute walk from Taketomi Port.
