波照間島星空観測タワーとは

1994年に日本最南端の有人島に開設された星空観測タワー。

3階建てで屋上が開閉式の天体ドームとなっています。

周囲に民家も該当もなく星空観測するのには最高の条件が揃っています。

200mの屈折式望遠鏡とプラネタリウムがあり、夜には星空ガイドも行われております。

また、12～6月にかけては南十字星を見ることができます。

波照間島に宿泊したら、必ず星空観測を楽しみましょう！

街灯が一切ないこの観測タワー周辺では星空がとても綺麗に見えます。

石垣島でも星空が綺麗に見えますが、波照間島はより一層綺麗に見える離島です。
