Details on Ryukyu Glass Glass Island

Ryukyu Glass Glass Island is a glass workshop that manufactures and sells products made from Ryukyu glass, and where visitors can also try their hand at glassmaking.
You can purchase glassware such as glasses, vases, plates, and small bowls at reasonable prices.
During the glassblowing workshop, you can use colorful glass to create your very own original glass.
The glass is heated, then blown to expand it before being shaped.
The workshop is closed on Sundays, and hands-on sessions are available from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Ryukyu glass originated when various techniques were developed using Coke and juice bottles brought in by the U.S. military after the war, leading to the creation of the highly artistic Ryukyu glass we see today.
The glassblowing technique where the glass swells into a round shape like a balloon is really fascinating.
It’s ready in just a few minutes, so you won’t be able to take your eyes off it!!
