I've never been good at drawing, so to be honest, I was a little nervous, but since the shape was already there and all I had to do was paint it, it was totally fine even for a beginner. As I gradually layered on the colors I wanted, I started to grow attached to my very own Shisa... and I was able to enjoy the process all the way to the end. I've already put the finished piece on display in my room.

We stopped by here during a family trip. There’s a wide variety of painting options, so even adults can really enjoy themselves. If I had to nitpick, I think it would have been nice to have a few more brush sizes to choose from so we could paint more detailed patterns. That said, overall, we were very satisfied.

At first, I wasn’t sure what kind of face to draw, but I worked on it while discussing ideas with my husband. Next, I had to add the fine details, but my hands were shaking… (sweat) Still, I think that actually added a unique charm that only a handmade piece can have. I was really grateful that we could spend some relaxing time together without getting wet, even on a rainy day. That said, it would have been easier to paint if there had been a few more types of brushes to choose from.

The instructor’s guidance was spot-on, and even as beginners, we were able to create pieces with real character. We’ve already displayed the pair of shisa we made at our front entrance.
